Monday 18th January 2021 English
1. Spelling.
I have set each spelling group (green, amber and red) some spellings to focus on today, and throughout the week.
You can either practise these using the 'look, cover, write, check' grids (you can find this attached below), or on www.spellingframe.co.uk. Please email me if you are not sure of your spellingframe login details.
Practise these and get an adult to test you
2. Handwriting
LO: ensuring letters are a consistent height and size
Today, I want you to think carefully about making sure that your descenders (g, j, q, p, y) drop below the line, and that your ascenders (b, d, h, k, l) reach up taller than other letters. Check that all other letters are a consistent height - this means that they are all a very similar height.
3. Grammar
LO: to use apostrophes for plural possession
We can use apostrophes for:
1. Omission (to show missing letters, e.g. did not = didn't)
2. Possession (to show that something belongs to someone, e.g. The boy's pen).
When using apostrophes to show possession, we need to be able to show whether the owner is singular or plural. Complete the lesson at the following link to learn more: https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/to-explore-using-apostrophes-for-plural-possession-cgvk2d?activity=video&step=1
