Hello Bumblebee class!

Week beginning Monday 22nd February – Friday 26th February 2021

Monday 22nd February

Please find all of your activities below. Underneath this document you will find all of the videos and documents you need to complete the learning. Please remember the sheets are only there as a guide, you are more than welcome to print and use them. If you can’t, please do not worry, any resources you have at home will do just fine.

What you will need

Early morning work

Super sentence writing – see Powerpoint.

  1. We will be starting super sentence writing this half term. On the PowerPoint you will see three sentences. You need to read the sentences and choose one to write.

This is an opportunity to show your BEST writing. Don’t forget to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

Today we are introducing our new topic – Space.

  1. Today I would like you to start by looking at the Powerpoint. Make sure you listen to the sound buttons and follow Miss Del Pizzo’s instructions.

In this Powerpoint you will learn a little bit about space and there’s even a little space quiz at the end.

  1. Once you have done this you will need to complete the activity. You can print the document I have provided or use paper and pens that you have at home. Today you will be writing a list. Remember that when we right a list we write a something new on each line for example:
  • pen
  • paper
  • computer

Can you think of a question about space that you could ask a family member or friend? Remember you need to know the answer to your question.

Phonics / Spellings

Today you will be learning your new spellings.

  1. First you need to look at the spelling document and see which words you are going to learn this week.

I have provided a look, cover, write and check sheet for each of the different spellings, this is there to use if you like.

Top tips to help you with your spellings:

  • Make sure you can read the words first.
  • Write the words in different coloured pens.
  • Ask an adult at home to hide your spellings around the house. Can you find them and write them yourself?
  • Write your spellings using chalk on the pavement outside.
  • Use paint, colouring pencils and pens.
  • Use phonics play tricky word can online (this is free during lockdown)
  • use Espresso tricky word spelling game (see log on details on the sheet)
  • Reading and writing repetition of the words is key to remembering your spellings.

Today you will be learning to represent the numbers 9 and 10.

  1. First you will need to follow the link to watch the White rose video number 1.
  2. Once you are done watching the video you can start the activity. You will be exploring how many different ways you can make 9 and 10 at home. Use different things inside or outside of your house to help you with this.

Can you practise your number formation of all numbers from 0 to 10? How many can you form correctly?
