Hello Bumblebee class!

Week beginning Monday 1st March – Friday 5th March 2021

Monday 1st March 2021

Please find all of your activities below. Underneath this document you will find all of the videos and documents you need to complete the learning. Please remember the sheets are only there as a guide, you are more than welcome to print and use them. If you can’t please do not worry, any resources you have at home will do just fine.

What you will need

Early morning work

Super sentence writing – see Powerpoint.

  1. On the PowerPoint you will see three sentences. You need to read the sentences and choose one to write.

This is an opportunity to show your BEST writing. Don’t forget to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

Paper and pencil

  • Today I would like you to start by looking at the Powerpoint. Make sure you listen to the sound buttons and follow Miss Del Pizzo’s instructions.

  • In this Powerpoint you will learn some facts about the three closest planets to the sun and listen to an astronaut read a story in space.

  • Once you have done this you will need to complete the activity. You can print the document I have provided or use paper and pens that you have at home. Today you will be writing some facts about your favourite planet using simple sentences. Remember when writing a sentence you need to:
  • think of a sentence
  • say the sentence out loud and put it on your fingers
  • write the sentence, segmenting and blending to spell

Can you tell your adult one fact about your favourite planet?

Phonics / Spellings

Today you will be learning your new spellings.

  1. First you need to look at the spelling document and see which words you are going to learn this week.

I have provided a look, cover, write and check sheet for each of the different spellings, this is there to use if you like.

Top tips to help you with your spellings:

  • Make sure you can read the words first.
  • Write the words in different coloured pens.
  • Ask an adult at home to hide your spellings around the house. Can you find them and write them yourself?
  • Write your spellings using chalk on the pavement outside.
  • Use paint, colouring pencils and pens.
  • Use phonics play tricky word can online (this is free during lockdown)
  • use Espresso tricky word spelling game (see log on details on the sheet)
  • Reading and writing repetition of the words is key to remembering your spellings.

Pencil or pen

Today you will be learning to count back from 10.

  1. First you will need to follow the link to watch the White rose video number 1.
  2. Once you are done watching the video you can start the activity. You will be ordering the numbers from 10 counting backwards to 1. You can listen to or sing a rhyme to help you with this, such as 10 in the bed.

Can you practise your number formation of all numbers from 0 to 10? How many can you form correctly?
